Background
Desalination is an indispensable sector for cities in areas where freshwater resources are scarce. One of our client located in this area, being a West Asian country, has a great demand for desalination filtration.
Our second trip to the desalination plant in the Middle East occurred in August 2018. Actually, we have kept in contact since 2016, when we first knew each other.
Over 100 samples have been sent here and five industrial tests have been carried out in the three years that we have known each other.
This time, we keep finding solutions for our client’s issues.
The Solution
To solve the problem, we first collected information on all the products being used in the plant and logged all the specific information needed for the analysis.
Next, we carefully analyzed and studied the water quality, solids content and solids size. With these real data, we designed a membrane structure cartridge.
In this way, we achieve higher filtration rates and greater holding capacity.

It is clearly and obviously shown from the above charts and data that, the performance of Brother Filtration MAX-A high flow filter cartridge is similar to the currently used cartridges, sometimes even better and qualified to replace the original ones.
From another point, we got positive feedback from the plant planning department.
By considering the total flow, mechanical integrity, output quality, and the price, the cost of the original filter (USD/M3) is 47% higher than Brother Filtration at 700 pc price and 57% at 4000 pc price. In conclusion, Brother Filtration filters are a good investment for the company and can significantly lower O&M expenditures.
