Hydrophobic and Hydrophilic types are both available
The polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE) is used to create the PTFE membrane filters with a pleated filter surface. Brother Filtration manufactures 2 types of PTFE membrane filter cartridges, which are the Deltamax Hydrophobic PTFE cartridge and the Deltamax Hydrophilic PTFE cartridge.
The Deltamax hydrophobic PTFE pleated cartridge filters from Brother Filtration are specially made with polytetrafluoroethylene media. In a variety of fluids and applications, PTFE membranes offer extensive chemical compatibility with few extractables and don’t contain surfactants. Compressed air and other process gases can be filtered using the hydrophobic PTFE membrane because of its inherent properties.
With suitable flow pathways between media pleats, the pleat technique maximizes the filter’s usable surface area. These Brother Filtration cartridge filters are made of PTFE and polypropylene support media, both of which are suitable for biological use and chemically inert. Cartridge construction uses thermoplastic sealing methods rather than potentially contaminated adhesives.
However, unmodified PTFE’s inherent hydrophobicity limits its application to the filtration of organic liquids and solutions. Several surface modification techniques have been used to create hydrophilic PTFE membranes for use in the filtering of both aqueous and organic liquids in order to get around these restrictions.
Brother Filtration DeltaMax Hydrophilic PTFE Membrane Filter adopts the imported Hydrophilic PTFE membrane, and the shell is made of polypropylene hard cage or stainless steel lining hot melt welding.
