Brief Introduction of RO System

1.What is RO system?

Many people heard about RO system to purify water,both salt and fresh water,but few really know its components and how it works.First, we have an understanding of RO,full name is Reverse Osmosis.It is nothing but a technology that is employed in the case of water to get rid of a large number of contaminants from it.From the meaning, we could get the key components of RO system is RO membrane,and RO system is a full set of equipment to perfect purify water.

What is basic components of an RO system?

Below is a set of RO equipment, we could find that it is made up by nine parts:cartridge filter housing, FRP tank, distributor, RO vessels, RO membrane, flow meter,valve,pressure gauge and UV disinfection.

RO membrane Vessel

Brother pressure vessels are engineered for Reverse Osmosis systems in a variety of industrial and commercial water treatment applications at pressures up to 1200 PSI.

By brother recommended adapter kits,brother pressure vessels can accommodate any standard make 2.5’’,4’’ and 8’’ membrane filtration elements.

For RO membrane, we not only provide standard filter cartridge,like PTFE filter cartridges ,PVDF filter cartridges,PES filter cartridges,nylon filter cartridges,but also supply varieties of high flow cartridge filters.

How does the RO system work?

RO system processThere are five main purification stages in the RO system

Step one:The raw water is passed through the sediment filter and activated carbon filter where all the suspended particles are removed through sediment filters. The removal of chlorine and other organic chemicals that can unpleasant smell and taste of the water are removed by activated carbon filters. Both the filters enhance the life of RO membrane because these impurities caused clogging in the RO membrane.

Step two:After that, the water is passed through the RO membrane under pressure. Here all the dissolved impurities such as heavy metals are removed.

Step three:Water then passes through UF membrane to remove bacteria and cyst.

Step four:In the conventional RO purification process used in other water purifiers, all the minerals are washed away. To maintain those minerals Kent RO water purifiers has inbuilt TDS controller.

Step five:The water is allowed to pass through the UV lamp, due to the high-intensity UV rays all the harmful microorganism are killed that cause many hurtful water-borne diseases.
